Is there a private nightmare app that does not record audio?

    Short answer

Yes. SleepSafe uses on-device audio recognition, but audio is never stored or sent to the cloud. There is no account, no SleepSafe server holding your data, and your sleep history stays in your own iCloud.

    How the audio works

SleepSafe uses secure, on-device audio recognition as one of its detection signals, but the audio is processed in the moment and never stored or uploaded. There is no recording of your night sitting on a server anywhere.

    No servers, no account

SleepSafe has no servers holding your sleep history. When you open the app, that data comes directly from your own iCloud, the same place your photos and contacts live. Nobody at SleepSafe can access it, and you never create an account or set a password.

    No external AI services

The models that power detection are built into the app and run on your own devices. There are no external services analysing your sleep, and SleepSafe works fully offline.

SleepSafe is a complementary tool, not a replacement for professional medical treatment. If nightmares or night terrors affect your health or daily life, speak with a healthcare provider.
